We arrived in St. Louis … a city I haven’t been to in 40 years. Ouch. The forecast for the weekend is sunny with highs in the 50s – should be pleasant to walk around with Ty and Buster with many opportunities for outside doggie dining.
But tonight I want to use this post to alert our readers to a new pet friendly hotel chain we discovered: Drury Hotels (1-800-DRURY-INN). The family-owned business operates about 130 hotels in 20 states … we’re staying at the 4th & Market location just a few minutes walk from the Arch, Busch Stadium, Edward Jones Stadium, and Laclede Landing. We got a great room for $85 a night, and an upgrade to a two-room suite was available for $50. The price includes a hot breafast and food and beverages (3 alcoholic drinks and unlimited soda) served between 530 and 7 pm. If that’s not enough, the hotel is attached to two full service restaurants.
Drury has a long standing policy of allowing pets – two per room and no breed or weight restrictions – free of charge. Pets are not allowed in the public gatherings of the hotel and may not be left unattended in the room (so use our directory of pet sitters if you need to). Because the hotels are not franchised, the pet policy extends to all locations. Ty and Buster give this place two duclaws up! Woof!
UPDATE
There is some additional information I need to share about our Drury Inn hotel:
- Our room included a king-size bed, mini-fridge, AND A RECLINING CHAIR!
- There is FREE wi-fi and FREE long distance!
- You can order FOOD TO GO from the attached Max & Erma’s and Carmines!
- Next to the hotel is an OPEN PARK, great for those early morning/late night doggie pit stops!
- One block away is a Starbucks (IN the Hyatt) that allows pets INSIDE!
- The two-room SUITE UPGRADE is available for only $20 at the desk!
This hotel and location really rocks. If you’re coming to St. Louis (with or without pet) stay at a Drury Inn!
